I realize that from reading my blog posts, one might assume that my answer to this question, would be no.
That being a stay-at-home-mom, is definitely not enough.
After all, I’m the girl who goes on and on about going after your goals, fulfilling your purpose, and becoming your best self.
I’m the girl who pushes you to go further than you’ve ever gone before, because you have a story to complete.
But even still…
Your assumption couldn’t be further from the truth.
Being a stay-at-home-mom, is absolutely more than enough!
Because If You’re A Mom, And You Never Accomplish Anything Else, You’ve Already Accomplished Greatness.
We are the ones, more than anyone else, who gets to shape these little human beings, into men and women who are respectful, kind, considerate, compassionate, generous, hard-working, honest, dependable, and successful.
It’s a big job mom! And it’s enough!
So, if you choose to devote yourself to being a stay-at-home-mom, and not pursue anything else, that is okay.
You have made a choice, and it’s one that you can be proud of.
But that goes both ways, doesn’t it, mom?
Because some women are mothers, and still have the strong desire to accomplish more; to build careers; to pursue their passions.
This is where I currently find myself.
So I Can Honestly Tell You That, Being A Mom Who Chooses to Pursue More, Doesn’t Mean We Think Being A Mom Isn’t Enough. It Just Means We Know We Have More to Do, And That’s Okay Too.
Either way is okay.
I know there’s this long-standing debate of stay-at-home-mom vs working mom, but can I just tell you that they both matter. They’re both enough. And they both involve incredibly hard-work.
It isn’t a competition!
It’s simply a matter of choice. It’s your own personal decision, and there’s no right or wrong one.
And believe it or not, being a stay-at-home-mom, is a purpose.
Our Purposes Don’t Always Lead Us Outside of The House, Or Even Outside of Motherhood. Being A Mom, And Only Focusing on That, Could Very Well Be Your Purpose.
So, don’t ever feel like you are not enough. You have incredible value right where you are, doing just what you’re doing. Whether that’s taking care of children all day at home, or taking care of children, while also taking the time to pursue other things that are important to you.
So, the next time you read one of my blog posts, and you hear me talking once again about pursuing your goals or fulfilling your purposes, remember that I’m talking to all moms. Because I know even stay-at-home-moms have goals and purposes centered around their family and their home.
No one’s excluded. And everyone’s enough.
