Me Time!

What Are 5 Things You Love to Do (Outside of Being a Mom)?

What are 5 things that you love to do? Five things that fuel you with excitement or passion or relaxation or joy or a strong feeling of comfort. It takes some minutes to think about, doesn’t it? It certainly did for me. I was so used to not having much time for myself, that when I realized I now had an abundance of time to spend on me, I had no idea what to do. My first day of staying at home, but no longer a stay at home mom because all my kids were now in full-time school, was soooo boring! I did some cleaning, exercise, made myself some breakfast, responded to a few emails, and then I just sat on the couch with no idea what to do next. I eventually turned on the tv, but if you know anything about daytime television, then you know that didn’t have much to offer. After a few days of this, I realized I couldn’t keep this up. I needed to remember things that I love and things that interest me, outside of being a mom and raising kids. And I did, I remembered 5 things that I love to do:

     1.) Read

     2) Write

     3.) Learn

     4.) Work towards something/create

     5.) Spend time with Jesus

Maybe you’re a mom, at home during the day without kids like myself; or maybe you’re a mom with little ones tugging at your feet all day long; or just maybe, you’re a full-time working mom. No matter where you find yourself as a mother today, chances are you’ve long forgotten about those pastimes that you used to spend hours enjoying. It’s time to make room for those again. Even if it’s just five minutes a day. So, let me ask you again, what are 5 things that you love to do?
